RA designs for real people.
This is why we design for both working and living, and practice both architecture and interior design, without separating people from purpose.
Industrial, commercial, and residential projects alike are designed for the human spirit. Each has its own process. Each has its own use. But all are built by real people, for real people.
Process
RA listens to you. You, your situation, and your site are unique; so we prioritize context.
Working from context allows RA designs to reveal themselves as if they were always there. When they emerge this way, they are sometimes a bit mystical but always practical, and feel both timely and timeless in a way that chimes with the human soul.
You experience places in more than one way, so we look at your project in more than one way. RA refines designs by somersaulting: a cycle of listening, simulating, modeling, and drawing. Looking at things in only one way, even computer simulation, hides real-life problems. Problems are cheaper to fix with pencils than hammers.
RA designs with you throughout every project, staying in constant communication. When you partner with RA, our whole team is on your side, and we were born to design.
Location
RA focuses on the San Francisco, Raleigh, and Austin regions, with other interstate and international work.
The drawing studio is in Austin, TX. Riley has lived and practiced in San Francisco, Raleigh, and Austin.
